These are a few self-portraits I did as a test for lighting setups while wearing a hat, and I've got to say it's harder than it looks. I think I finally got it, although these aren't perfect, but it was definitely something fun that I don't do all that often!
Any feedback on the photos or tips on lighting would be appreciated!
Definitely underexposed on the face in the first one, hand is closer. Love the lighting on the second one (I tend to push my skin highlights right to the edge for more tonal range and contrast). Great work, second is definitely my favorite.
I agree with Matthew Teetshorn - second picture is the best of the three. In the first image it looks like there is a difference in white balance between the hand and face that I might try to account for in camera before editing. The only thing that would add a little more pop to the second image imo, is a slight rim light on camera right to separate you from the background and give the viewer a nice outline of the back of the brim of the hat. Good work and great starting point!
