Dramatic noir portrait of a young woman

Hey, I've been having trouble with categorizing the picture within available categories of photos. It's noir, dramatic, low key and kinda works with 'fashion' label.
Anyway, let me know what you think about this dark shadowy pic.

Shot on Canon 5ds and 100mm macro lens. Lit with a single beauty dish.

This is on point for my taste and style. Absolutely love the style and lighting. I'm especially drawn to the shadow across her forehead and eyelids and how that contrast and darkness draws the viewer to her eyes immediately. Absolutely love this.

My only "critique" and it's not even that as it matters so little, is that I would like to so more space around her shoulders. As it is, it's cropped right at the very edge of her shoulder and arms, but not so much in either direction. I would like to see the crop opened up just a bit more so we see her frame with some breathing room on both sides. Again, very very nitpicky, as this is absolutely an amazing image.

I've found that the triangle formed by white blouse looked best almost touching the bottom line of the picture, hence the crop. The background around the model and the jacket are barely distinctable, so I thought more are around isn't necessary, but I can see your point, especially in large print format. Thanks!

Gotcha. I love to read about artistic choices and why people made them. Helps improve all of us, and helps us think and see differently. That triangle does add quite a bit to the image in this crop, so again, just a superb image

This is just a great photo all around. I'm so glad to see it in black and white. Not too much retouching - I assume there was some, I can't tell so it's been done perfectly in my opinion. I bet this would blow anyone away in a large print. Congratulations.

Thanks a lot:)
I've printed it in 40x70 format, but I still would love to see it much larger.

I really like this. I like the composition of tones, resulting in a dramatic point-balanced arrow. I like the full range of tones from black to white. I like the delicacy of tones in shadows, mids, and highlights. Excellent. Wish I'd made that photograph.

It was quite a challange to match the tonality this way with only one light, so thank's for the appreciation ;)

I agree the other reviewers; this is a beautiful portrait. I happen to like the tight crop. Each area of light and shadow is a basic geometric shape lending a bit of cubist influence without overwhelming her face.
