Home alone

I've never done much portraiture (and I'm just an amateur) but I've wanted to try some low key, dramatic photos. Since I've been home a bunch, I got a chance to try.

I'd appreciate any feedback. On the mask photo, I'm not sure about the right eye being so dark, but when I tried a fill light, it lost its moodiness.

If your key light is at 3 o'clock you can place a diffused fill at 4 or 5. Gives a tad more wrap around that you can dial to reach proper shadow side exposure. Because it's coming from the near-same direction people hardly notice it. The diffusion panel from a 5-in-1 to bounce the key's feathered light could work too. I'm still experimenting with portrait lighting so giving a suggestion.

I like the mood and expression of the photo.

Thanks! I hadn't thought of putting the fill fairly close to the key, but that makes perfect sense.

Paige's booth portrait

Recently, I taught an Off Camera Flash class. Paige was my model for the class. We were outdoors but it started to rain. Luckily, a nearby restaurant let us conduct the class in their dining room.
