Bill, first I need to congratulate you on the many amazing photos you've taken. I found myself staring in admiration at your work. I have nothing but praise for your photography.

Regarding the website, every website developer should ask themselves what the purpose of the site is. Who are you targeting? How do you want to lead them through your website? What action do you want them to take? After I got past your amazing photos, I spent time thinking about the website navigation and what "call to action" you wanted me to take. I found the hierarchy of pages confusing. What is the difference between Fashion I and Fashion II. Is the call to action on each page different? If so, what are they? I did notice your email at the bottom of each page, so I assume that the behavior you want to drive is have them contact you. And who is them? Models that want you to photograph them? Corporate advertising departments? People who want to buy a print of your amazing photos? It isn't clear to me who the target audience is and what behavior you're attempting to drive on each page.

Please take my feedback in the spirit of wanting you to successfully promote your photography and your business. I have experience building websites and have put a lot of thought into these issues. Hope this helps.

Steve

Stephen,

thank you so much for taking the time to check my site and for your constructive and helpful remarks. The website was an answer to a need to differentiate my fashion/glamour photography from my wedding photography. I've been mainly a wedding photographer for the past 10 years but started to take on more fashion and beauty work in the last couple of years.

I felt I needed a different platform to showcase my fashion work hence the new site. I have been mixing all the recent work on my blog www.billmcdad.com so by building the new site I was hoping to organize my online presence and separate the businesses.

Again thank you so much for your input as I found it to be helpful and constructive..

Take care,

Bill

I agree with Stephen that the photography is top notch, and he has some expertise in web design that I do not. That said, I found the navigation of the filmstrip annoying because of the multiple clicks necessary to advance the photos. Maybe that is specific to my imac and is a smoother process on another platform. Best of luck with your new track!
