Anyone Excited About The Upcoming Sigma 135mm & Rokinon 100mm?

When I shoot fashion work I am generally using a focal length of 50-150mm. My go to lenses are the 70-200mm and the 105mm. As such, both the Sigma 135mm and Rokinon 100mm are right up my alley and I am very eager to test them out.

Anyone else have their eye on these?

Rokinon, as for brand repuation I wouldn't invest a penny until I see evidence its better than 1st party brands or top 3rd brands. They're on the bottom of the list of 3rd party lenses in my opinion. Sigma 135mm (aperture unknown), depends for me which aperture it'd be released on. If its the 135 1.4 or 1.8 or f/2 that's be great if they're sharp, and if its an ART it should be very sharp. We'll see. I've been keeping on eye out for the 85 1.4 honestly, especially what Dani Diamond has shown what can be done with an 85.

Haha, good point, Dani makes us all want to ditch everything and only shoot with an 85mm!

I hear the next release from the Sigma ART line should be the 85mm anyways, so it will be very interesting to see how it stacks up against the already great glass thats out there.

I have seen some tests which suggest the Rokinon/Samyang glass is quite sharp, though I have not tested it myself so I can't give a first hand account. The big downside really seems to be manual focus.....which I'm actually quite fond of.

You bring up some great points Chris!
