B/W-Portrait of an Architect - Critics welcome

Amoda Ratnayake is one of my friends who met in our Photography class. She is an architect and was studying Architectural photography. She wanted to get few shots of her for her portfolio cover page and asked me to shoot few. So this is my shot. Please type here your thoughts. What do i need to improve?, Why do you like it?, Why do you don't like it? or anything that would be helpful to improve my photography skills are really welcome here.
Thanks!

The light on the subject is good. Posing of the hands is what has to be improved. Try to put women's hands always in such a way that they don't look bigger than they are. Either further away from the camera, or showing the side of the hand. Try to place hands so that they don't cover the face. She's a beautiful woman and her face deserves to be shown in its full glory.

Also when people are sitting, they naturally are on a hight comfortable for their job, but on a photograph they look very short. I'd suggest lifting the chair a little higher next time.

I hope that helps improve such portraits.

Thank you very much for spending your valuable time to put a comment. I agree with the your concern about placing her hand and also I think left hand covers her shape of the face. I will try your suggestion for a next shoot.
