Lighting a very narrow face

I have a headshot coming up later this week for a woman with a VERY narrow face and long features. She told me she feels like she photographs horribly, so I'm going to make sure that I'm really giving her the best I can.

I feel like it would be best to set up the lighting with broad light as much from the front as possible, and possible going with a shorter lens than normal to fill out her face a bit (50mm or maybe 35).

Any advice on this session would be very appreciated!

Definitely agree with using a broader light. Not sure about going with a shorter lens.

I agree with Doug. The flattening effect of a long lens would make the face appear bigger and the nose smaller. Try 200mm if you have room, I have gotten some good results, but outdoors.

Broadlighting is a good idea. I’d like to hear if people think clam lighting would work too.
