Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
"Reaching" - 'Sambucus nigra', as my wife calls it, or Black Lace Elderberry for the rest of us.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

These photos were taken just outside of a small town in central Portugal.

Pictures 1, I like the lighting and the feeling in the portrait. What I would do different is shooting it without the right arm up like that, it distracting.
Picture 2, once again I like the lighting and the feeling in the portrait. What I would do different is not to raise the arm towards the light, because it then becomes the brightest part of the image.
In general, It looks like you are shooting youre pictures underexposed which makes you loose a lot of colour in the eyes.
Also the retouch is way to hevy for my taste, to smooth skin and to white eyes. But thats just my personal opinion.
Thank you for the critique and your time. Nice tips with the arms, I will take that into consideration.
About the underexposure. My lights are continuous and are not too strong (unfortunately) All the studio cost me less than $200. I can only do so much lol. I was at ISO 400 at f/3.5 on these pictures. If I had gone any further up, I would have had grain. Maybe that is why they look underexposed.
Thank you so much!
