If I could go back in time, of course I would make changes to both of these images! But my clients were happy. Which look do you think would sell better?
For the girl, she needs more room above her eyes. Her hairline at least! Love her expression. Mixed feelings about the intensity of the hair. Can live without the necklace.
For the gent, it was my first attempt at studio lighting. The key light is way too hot and I'm not sure how I feel about the expression. Love the way the kicker lights up his jaw. Wish the suit was better fitted.
I'm not much for critiquing portraits, but I'll give it a go. You pretty much covered the lovely lady. The necklace clashes with the V of her sweater; two Vs but asymetric. I like the wild hair. :-)
The one comment for the gentleman is the shadow that the sunglasses cast on his left eye. For whatever reason, it caught my attention right away.
I might have tried a reflector for the left side of the frame just to see what it would produce.
Thanks David for that insight David! Love knowing what other professionals notice in my work that I may not.
Both approaches are OK, they guy wants to look cool so the studio lighting underlines this.
What I absolutely do not like are clipping highlights like on the forehead of the guy that looks like sweat skin.
