Not sure why my flash sync is not doing the strobe thing. I set my camera to Flash Sync to 1/250s (Auto FP) and I use a Vello Transmitter on my camera and Vello Receiver on my Nikon SB-700 flash (set to Manual & turned to ON). The flash goes off but I cannot go any faster than the flash sync speed of 1/250.
Is there a setting on my flash that I need to change? Do I have to use a pocket wizard transmitter/receiver?
Meanwhile, I'll keep playing with it! Thanks so much! Cathy
Hi Cathy, in theory, they should work fine. Just make sure your Nikon SB 700 is set to RPT using the mode selector and have a play with it to get the right numbers of strobe and Hz. I normally set mine to 5 and 10 to start off with, and I always give time for my Speedlite to cool down.
For this reason, I have more than one Speedlite and they are mostly Chinese made. Cheaper to purchase and there are identical to Nikon.
Good luck.
