Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
"Reaching" - 'Sambucus nigra', as my wife calls it, or Black Lace Elderberry for the rest of us.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
Vintage Lenses
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

Outside the tourist area photos.
These photos were taken just outside of a small town in central Portugal.

Hey Sem. I like the emotion, subject separation, and tonal treatment you gave the image. The fact that your G/F is leaning toward the camera definitely makes me feel more engaged as a viewer.
FWIW, I'm more of a landscape guy who is trying to learn about portrait / head shot photography and one of the struggles I have is recognizing the "little" details while on scene. Stuff like flyaway hair or hair slightly covering the eye are elements I often don't pick-up until post, when it's too late. So my critical points are:
1. On my monitor, her sclera (white part of the eye) is red, maybe because it was really cold? If so, you can correct.
2. The hair is a little too tangled and thus distracting.
3. I don't know if this qualifies as a headshot - the pros here will be able to offer a lot more insight than me.
All of this being said, you obviously know what you're doing with the technical aspects and the photo itself is beautiful. I would imagine that she loves this shot.
Thanks Robert for your feedback! I hope I posted this in the right group, thought it was a headshot or some sort.
It's funny, I also focus a lot more on landscapes, but I try portraits more and more and I'm hoping to improve my photographs.
As for her left eye: that's her true color, It always had been red because of a small accident that happenend to her eye, so I wanted to keep it that way. ;)
Thanks again Robert, appreciate it!
