I've recently been trying out some new techniques both with lighting and editing, and I'm excited to get some feedback. Not entirely sure on the background color, but I was kind of digging the texture. General notes or specific notes are appreciated!

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.
These photos were taken just outside of a small town in central Portugal.

Too intense expression in the eyes, no expression in the mouth, issue is that it doesn't match.
More background separation could help.
Postprocessing is good if it would be a bit more delicate, in the first image there is an aura around the head. I don't think it was in purpose.
