Drop in engagement

Might just be me, but has anyone noticed a significant drop in engagement in the last week or so? I'm aware of the shadowblocking issue with some hashtags, and (according to the shadow block checker), my posts are "safe".

I have been experiencing a huge drop in engagement! It sucks but at least I'm not the only one.

Yea, its almost less than a third of what it used to be just a week ago! Tried various methods/tags/upload times and no change. Sucks, but alas we are at their mercy! haha

Yeah, I was averaging about 600-700 likes per post and now I'm barely getting over 200. If I get 300 it's a miracle haha!

Yes, the last few weeks have been about 30% less engagement than normal, and I've been uploading the same methods and consistency for a long time.

I even changed the methods (time/day of uploads) but its still the same issue. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem :) It's hard as it is for small businesses, so if you already dont have a large organic following, you're pretty much out of luck.

Mike Kelley was recently mentioning this as well.

I am just a "enthusiast" with a small following, but yes a noticeable drop in engagement. But not surprising asit came on heels of the instagress ban. I live near Montreal (Burlington VT), and every Montreal related picture would get huge engagement from "sex bots" trying to (sometimes successfully) lure me to their accounts and websites. My last few posts from Montreal received no sexbot attention. Just a one man's anecdote but I think that is what is going on. I am also getting allot less random people follow me, only to unfollow shortly later (classic bot activity). my insta account: byron_batres look at the montreal related engagment vs others and you'll see the sexbot effect
