matching my monitor with cellphone

Hey everyone !

I noticed that when i upload some image on instagram there is always a difference from what I seen on my computer monitor. There is more saturation and contrast on my phone... do you have any tips to match my cpu monitor with my cellphone?

thanks a lot :P

I don't know if this is too obvious but did you convert the file's color profile to sRGB before saving it for other devices (like your phone) ?

Hi! Well, at least for me isn't that obvious, could you explain further the best settings talking about color profile to share on the internet and apps? Why sRGB and not AdobeRGB for example?
Thanks!

Hey Alexandro, sRGB was first and pretty much all electronics we use are sRGB based (that's what i've been told)
Adobe RGB has a much wider color range so it is able to show you about 30% more color.
I tend to shoot and retouch n Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB, which has an even wider range, save the file with this profile and when I make a smaller sized file for the internet I convert it to sRGB. In photoshop: Edit / Convert To Profile - destination space to sRGB.
Important note, Adobe RGB to sRGB works well because you go from wider range to smaller, other way around I would not do this.
Hope this helped you, I'm no expert so if anyone likes to add, feel free

Thank YOU so much!! I knew that adobe was better because of wider range, but didn't know about not being compatible with internet... damm, that's why some of my shots looked great on the computer but a bit of shit later on the internet, seriously, thank you! :)
One more doubt, can you explain further ProPhoto RGB? I always use Adobe RGB, but, how is it possible to use it when shooting DNG? Or does DNG not cover that wide?
Thank you!!!

Hey Alexandro, I hope it helps, it did make a huge difference for me.
I shoot with canon 5ds and it was just one of the options available, on my 5dII I don't think it is.
