Mads Peter Iversen's picture

Would love some CC on these pictures :)

I consider these pictures some of my best and I have a hard time on finding ways I could improve them - beside being on the location on another time. But does anyone have some thoughts? Would be greatly appriciated :)

I feel like I would have to really reach to give you any constructive feedback. Simply put, this work is quite stunning. I bet these would look great in large format prints.

You have clearly developed a style of your own with these images, and I suspect any feedback you get will be much more based on the taste of the person giving the feedback than any sort of technical pursuit.

Mads Peter,

I agree with Bob's comment with exception on the "Aldeyjarfoss sunrise" image .
Having the brightest part of the image centered is not ideal. Recomposing to put it in the upper third of the image would then reduce the sky (where there is nothing really interesting to see) and capture more of the fore and mid ground details (where there is a lot of interest for the eye). The amount of water blur is something you could dial in a bit (personal taste) but having a juxtaposition element between the details of the rocks and the smooth water element is great.

I am falling in love with the "Black Church" image the more I look at it.

Overall I think Congrats is in order on these images.

Mike

Thanks alot to the both of you! :)

I actually haven't thought about the "brightest in the middle part" before. It's not something that annoys my eye. If I should recomp it, wouldn't I need to cut off the entire sky? I'm not sure cutting more off is any good. Stepping back would make the cliffs shadow the water, so not so sure about that either. And what's a Juxtaposition - haven't heard that term before.

Yeah- I have had many composition challenges where I just couldn't compose the shot the way I wanted. I understand completely. My idea would be to move in closer to the edge and tilt the camera down a bit to minimize the sky if it doesn't add anything interesting. if that is not safely doable, then of course stay safe!

juxtiposition - from the web:
jux·ta·po·si·tion
ˌjəkstəpəˈziSH(ə)n/
noun
the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.
"the juxtaposition of these two images"

Nice..!
I think these deserve a follow.

Thank you Robert :)

Stunning. No further comment necessary.
