i love the use of leading lines in this shot, the colour of the sky reflecting on the street and exposure of this image, very nice

Thanks Jayden!

Hi Dexter,
the sky colors are very nice. The leading lines of the building, light poles, and road surface work. I find the entire foreground to dark, and not very interesting. Opening up the shadows may help if the building has some interest. This concept with some interesting building(s) would be nice. Keep them coming.
Mike

Hi Michael - I'd have to agree with you on that front however there's not much of interest there! I'll have a play and see what I can come up with though

I'm fairly new to photography, a latent passion (I am a designer by trade) so don't take what I say as gospel but one of the guys I follow (Scott Kelby) said something like: "If you want to take great photos you need to go to great places". I think this particular saying is apt in this instance because the subject matter is not really saying anything to me.

I honestly don't think you could do anything to make this photo great. What you have done though with what you have got to work with is something that is going to appeal to personal taste. I like the sky color and I am led in via the leading lines but even the best photographer in the world is going to struggle to pull this one off.

I hope that is not discouraging.

Simon

Hi Simon, thanks for the feedback. Although I agree with your statement, in this instance I'm trying to take as many pictures as I can in order to a) develop my understanding of the process, b) understand my new camera as I come from a film background & c) hone my lightroom skills. Appreciate there isn't much going on in this picture but it looks (at least to me) a lot more interesting than the original.

I would attach the original but I'm unsure of how to get the non developed version out of lightroom...

I think you can take a virtual copy and then hit the reset button and then export it. That way you get both the undeveloped and the one you have worked on.
