The Lonely Savannah Tree - Feedback

Hi guys

I would like some feedback / CC on this landscape photo from Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

It's a drive by shot taken from the car during the golden hour. I really like the tree standing alone a bit to the right side so it makes it easy to se the silhouettes of the mountains in the far distance.
Let me know your thoughts :)

Happy New Year!

Very nice! Love the color and the other trees in the distance. That one piece of darker grass in the mid foreground is driving me crazy! :-)

I perhaps would have gone even wider with this shot. Just to show the vastness of the area. ??

Thanks Craig!
Sorry about the dark piece of grass in the middle - could be removed. Didn't really think about that. Great when others point out some obvious details which you missed your self :-)

I would love to shoot this area with a wider lens, I had my 70-200mm lens on my camera at that time. I was focussing on getting some wildlife ;-)

First of all, I'm super jealous of the location in which you shot this!!
My only feedback really would be depth of field. I think I would have preferred a smaller aperture so as to have a bit more in focus in that foreground.
Although, if this was taken from a moving vehicle I could see why you'd need the wider aperture in order to use a faster shutter. Overall, I love your composition and focal point. Nice work!!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback!
I would have loved to be at the location with my tripod and a wider lens, but you are not allowed outside the vehicles because of the wildlife. So yes, thats the reason to the depth of field and of course the moving vehicle :)
Cheers!

I wondered as much. :) Hoping to see more of your shots of Africa!!

Thanks Rex! You can see some of them on www.beiter.dk :)
Happy New Year!

Nice shot Mikkel! Love the colors and composition. My eye gets attracted to the small dark object in the lower center as I can't figure out what it is. I'd do some software magic on it (nit picky I know).
Congrats!

Thank you Michael! :)
