The thinking behind it was that the slipway should lead the eye to the bright portion in the middle and off into the distance but I guess if I have to explain it it hasn't worked properly lol I took a couple from the same location, do you think this one works any better?
I also feel the left is a bit dark. Otherwise I like the composition of the sun, reflection, and pave. That works for me. My eye does jump between the two bright parts of the image (sun and reflection), this might lead to the impression there is not a strong enough subject. I am curiously attracted to the pave. How about a close up of it and the water without the sky (in B&W of course) with a long exposure to provide contrast / juxtaposition between the smooth water and the pave surface. Just an idea.
