Lauren Noblin's picture

Dawson, GA

When pulling over to capture a photo of a run down building, I simply turned around and found a pasture of pecan trees. Call it cliche, but the dreamlike state that these trees portray had me in a trance.

Looks like an interesting place :)

Lauren,
I like the soft feeling of this image. I like the leading lines of the trees but agree on the cliche composition comment / sentiment. My eye quickly gets drawn to the branches closest to the camera which distracts from the place.. Finding a location in the orchard that would minimize this might make the image stronger. This would be a great location to shoot a young couple / engagement / wedding. Also in spring when these trees bloom......oh man!

Does it seem slightly over exposed? Just thinking out loud....

Uh, beautiful location.
As Craig mention, It looks a bit over exposed :)

Great location but could really benefit from a focal point (someone walking or running in the distance).
The image does also need some editing done to it. It's over exposed and a fair bit too pink. You could create a focal point but darkening the image quite a lot, even under exposing it and just brightening up the area at the vanishing point of the rows of trees.
Would be a great place to return to for a model shoot.

The branches on the left are slightly distracting, & it seems slightly overexposed but I think that lends itself well to the dreamlike state you saw the trees in. I like it!
