After seeing many of your fantastic images we (I for sure) now hold you to pretty high expectations. I realize that may not be entirely fair, but that is the way it is. So my comments fall into a general feeling that these two images are not of the same caliber as your prior images.
in "The Power of Dettifoss" image the low camera position cuts of the river feeding the waterfall which results in a flat feeling to the image IMHO. I like the use of B&W (my preferences coming through). The choice of exposure duration seems snapshot like. A longer exposure may have given a better result.
In "Auroras above Hverfjall" the foreground is steeling my eye from the Aurora which is probably not where you want to have my eye, maybe darkening the foreground would help on this. The Aurora is fantastic, I am very jealous of your winter skies!
Hi Michael, thanks for the feedback, I appriciate it very much! :)
I can see what you mean with the river. I think I was more focused on getting a foreground. With regard to the shutterspeed it's intentional. I like long exposures, but sometimes I just think they get too "silky" or "ethereal" and that's not the feeling I was aiming for - rough and gritty and yeah sadly that's how most people "snap" waterfalls ;)
