John,
Nice place and time. The frozen in time water doesn't work for me (my personal preference) Stoppong down to f/16 or so would have added a nice sun star and a longer shutter to show the water motion. Going with a long exposure (using a 10 stop ND would get you a few seconds exposure) would have removed all the water motion and might have been an interesting choice.
Mike

Thanks for the feedback Michael,

I actually did some long exposures at this spot with a higher f-stop but I didn't like how the blur came out. When comparing images I feel the fast shutter speed gave the scene more action and pop. I understand what you are saying about the sun, but when stopping down to F/16 it didn't come out as a star in this case because there is actually a thin cloud layer in front of it.

John. I think this shot is awesome! The color and framing is awesome, and I actually really like the frozen wave, it adds so much interest and context to the scene. The only thing that may or may not have made it bĂȘte would be a small speedlight or two to light up the water droplets a bit so you get more detail out of it

Thanks Tyler. I like the Speedlight idea. I didn't have one at the time but I do carry one most of the time now.
