Hi all,
I gave myself an exercise this morning to take a photo of a single subject in isolation. Your thoughts and cc as always gratefully received. I realize that this type of photo isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it floats my boat lol

It looks out of focus a bit, and i can't really tell what it is. I'm assuming it's a long exposure of a rock in am ocean, but it had no context. Oh and one more thing; you may want to update your watermark, it's 2016.
Respectfully I disagree about the focus (but I can see where you're coming from - I did a poor conversion! - just uploading a better edit) and it's context is that it's an isolated rock in the ocean. That's what the image is about. Anything else in the shot would be a distraction (that was my thought process anyway!), cheers for the heads up about the watermark!
I took another one earlier whilst setting up the shot (testing exposure etc) but rejected it because I was trying to isolate that rock. I think this composition works better and gives the context that Tyler was talking about a bit better. This was without any filters or anything so I wasn't concerned with smoothing out the water at that point, just getting my exposure levels right before adding my ND to really lengthen it out.
