I tried compositing a landscapepicture - daytime and nighttime combined into one. I've tried to make it as realistic as possible, but still give it that "punch" I think it needs to be a "finished" picture :) - any CC is welcome as useall :)
Mads,
I think you have succeeded on the composite. When I first saw the image before reading your comments I thought OMG Mads got another great image. Well, you do even as a composited image. The image has an alien world feel with that green color cast. I like the "Hasselblad" crop! I want to see more of the river flowing off the right of the image, but that want is a big part of why the image works with Kirkjufell centered.
Congrats!
Mike
Thanks for the kind words Michael :) Happy it works! There's actually not much more to give when it comes to the sides - it was almost square with the two images combined :)
Hi Mads, I slept on this before giving a critique. I have to say I disagree slightly with what everyone else is saying. First the positives, I really like the composition and the crop but there's something about the image that I can't seem to get my head around. The edges of the mountain and the rocks around the waterfall seem to be a solid black which seems unnatural to me. Bizarrely those lovely waterfalls feel like a distraction and I really don't like the grass in the foreground (looks a bit "mushy"). I'm being a bit vague here because I can't quite put my finger on what I'm trying to say! Don't get me wrong, it's a great image and I wish it was in my portfolio but I'm struggling a little with it.
That's completely fine Paul - I appriciate all the feedback I can get! :) Maybe it's because both the waterfalls and auroras battle for attention? :)
Do you mean the edge around the mountain also seems to be solid black or?
It's just the edge around the rocks at the top of the first two waterfalls and the right hand side of the mountain. I think it is that you've got three strong elements that equally fight to get my attention - waterfalls, mountain and auroras - each well shot so there's nothing that my eye naturally settles on. An excess of riches you might say!

I just saw your images on The Grid...congrats!
Thank alot :)
All Scott Kelby could say was "This is a really good photographer". I agree.
Beautiful composite Mads! Well done on the editing!
Thanks Mikkel :)
Love it. Looks out of this world.
Thanks Dexter! :)
That is stunning!
It may just be on my screen, but I feel like the foreground is a little bit to green and could be a little more towards neutral.
Thanks :) Too it's fine - also on my other screens :) Sadly screens differ quite alot :(

Great shot man! I agree with Michael, looks like an alien planet. Good work.
