So I have been on a landscape mission recently. I have been trying to take all the advice I have been given by you all and practice my landscapes!
I feel I have improved a little and its mostly thanks to the criticism I have received here! Im thinking of getting Elias landscape tutorial once I have saved up.
So as usual be as harsh as you want and I look forward to hearing your opinions!
This is 2 exposures shot yesterday and by the end I couldn't feel my toes :).
Hi Charlie,
Pretty nice image. The clouds are great. Nice warm light from golden hour. All in all a nice capture - congrats! The CC...The leading lines of the lighthouse path would be stronger coming from the bottom left corner rather than mid frame. WRT the processing it seems there is a Graguated ND on the clouds. As the image is mostly about the clouds I'm not sure that is the best way to show them off. Just my opinion. To pop the colors in the clouds I might explore reducing the luminance on the blue channel a bit then add just a slight vignette.
Best...Mike
Hi Michael, I do have some compositions like that however the clouds on the right of the lighthouse weren't as good. Ill continue to play with the sky and see what I can do I actually forgot my filters this time around so the graduated look in the sky was done in post so it will be easy to change. I have another shot I have just finished and I think it is better so I will upload that soon.
Thanks Michael, a great help as always!!
So here is the other composition.
Here is the other shot I mentioned in the comments.
this one is my favorite of the three. darken the lower left corner a bit. The colors are great.
Best...Mike
