I took this two days ago, and really it was by good luck that I got this shot. I was walking a historic railroad now turned into a hiking trail. I left the camera in the car simply because railroads aren't that interesting to photo and there was a good chance of serious thunderstorms in the area.
As I headed back I saw 3 deer in the tracks ahead. Obviously now wishing for the camera! I walked closer and they scampered into the woods. When I got to the place they were standing I saw them hiding in the woods next to the tracks. I quietly walked past and once I got to the car I grabbed the camera and walked back up to see if they were still in the woods. Sure enough they were still there and slowly made their way past me and up onto the tracks, stopping for just an instant to look back at me when I grabbed this photo.
Let me know what you think as I don't normally shoot nature or wildlife!
