I really like this location, if I were here I would of also done a vertical shot and got low to the water and used some of these rocks as a foreground and shown more of the canyon walls, again though fantastic location

thanks for the feed back I appreciate it!

I agree with Ron. I would have used a ND filter to use a slower shutter speed to get a nicer effect on the water and possibly a polariser (if the light would have allowed it).

Agree on the ND filter; a polarizer would probably be a good idea too. There's a blue-ish cast (most obvious on the left hand wall) because at the bottom of the canyon most light is reflected from somewhere else, so there's a lot of UV.

Also, verify focus is tack sharp back to front; you've got to use a tripod for a setup like this. (Disclaimer: this may be an artifact of showing us a low-res jpg)

We're nitpicking - or at least I am - but that's because so many great photographers have already gone to these locations. The bar is set super, super high.

If those are the sort of pictures you want to take, you've accomplished the most important part of the job: you've showed up, with your gear, and taken pictures.

PS: I like the other shot on your Fstoppers profile page a lot, too.

Cool shot! Is this in Zion?

With some zone processing you can enhance the mood and lighting. I just worked on the low res Jpg, workink on RAW you can do wonders.
