I will be moving out of San Pedro soon and will be relocating more towards downtown Los Angeles. Having the advantaged of living close to the beach gave me the opportunity to learn and capture endless sunrises and sunsets of the pacific ocean. I want to make a print of one of my best beach landscapes I got so far and have it hanged in my new future apartment. If I could have some CC about this one, would be great.
Thank you.
I think making a print for your own home is a fantastic way to encapsulate the memory of a place and have a milestone of your photographic talent. Some of my favorite travel experiences are hanging in my house. As for which one to print, I always prefer gravitating toward the one that you're most proud of and means the most to you. If that's this pic, print it!
For some cc, I think you could soften up your blacks a little. I like the dramatic/moody effect but when you push them past the point of losing detail, it detracts from the photo IMO. Same with the sky. I think if you sharpened up the rocks in the foreground a little bit more with some high pass filters masked in too, that'd help for a print. Finally, you've got a few dust spots in the sky that you could probably clean up pretty easily.
Copy that. Thank you David.
I completely agree with David on these points. if you pull the highlights on just the middle part above the horizon, it will both saturate the sky around the sun and repair the blown highlights. Make sure the sun actually IS blown for a natural looking result. If you find that the color is off, try adding a simple split toning effect (just the highlights though) through LR or Camera Raw to warm up those brightest areas. Combine this with a tad of shadow detail as per the instructions David gave you and this is a price winner, Edoardo.
Oh, and also: Don't forget to at least soft proof your image with the correct colour / printer profile (can be done in LR) and brighten it just a little to make the image appear printed as you've intended.
And finally, share your print with they have it delivered to you. :D
Awesome feedback thank you Daniel.
a marvelous capture

Great work, you should definitly print it! I love the light atmosphere!
No more tips for improvement, you already got enough ;-)
Thank you Lukas!
