I welcome the group's comments and suggestions on this post. The picture was shot in Suru Valley, Ladakh, India. The whole day had been cloudy and dull, unusual for this time of the year at 10,000 feet up in the Suru Valley in the Himalayas. I decided to go for a quick bath in the chilly waters of a small offshoot of the Suru River. I was about a quarter of a kilometre away from my tent (and, consequently, my gear), wet and shivering, when the clouds started to part and the setting sun began to bathe the 21,000 foot tips of the Nun and Kun peaks in brilliant golden light. I have never run like I did that evening, to my tent to grab my camera (which, thankfully, already had my Nikon 28mm mounted), and back again to the edge of a pool caused by river runoff. I was cold and wet, and inappropriately attired, but when you can point your camera at a scene like this, who gives a damn?
Well done! It was worth the run I would say!
Thank you, Sascha.
