Dogwood Ridge

I found Dogwood Ridge Farm in Mountville, SC, as I was out chasing sunset a few days ago. After a light rain late this afternoon, I had to drive out there because I knew I'd find a good shot at sunset.

As always, any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Beautiful shot in a location I certainly wouldn’t think to shoot. Nice job.

Thank you! I actually found this spot on a fluke. I was driving through on my way to an old farm in Mountville, and caught this view in my rearview mirror. I almost dropped my jeep into a ditch trying to pull over so I could catch that light before it disappeared. lol!

If you're ever on a road trip through the area, Mountville has a lot of beautiful open farmland... Definitely worth a detour.

great shot! maybe it's just me, but i would have tried to get a lower angle on this; crouching down a bit and angling your camera upwards just a tad would make it really feel as though you as the viewer were able to walk right into the scene. again, maybe that's just my mind - it is 2 am after all haha

Thanks, Cody! I had thought the same thing about the lower angle. I was able to get about 3 quick shots here before that light began to disappear. One of the shots was at a lower angle... I had stepped off to the lower right and down into a deep gulley. It had the potential to be a really good angle, but came out shaky because I was sliding and sinking in mud.

Excellent sunbeams. I dunno about shooting a lower angle... maybe I would try cropping to move the road a bit more to the right? This is a lovely image... serendipity. :)
