Small Things in the Ice

I found this really great composition by crawling under an ice arch at the front of a glacier. I initially shot the sunset version of the photo, but slightly screwed up the focus stack so I had to come back out. I went out during blue hour and got the stack right the second time and, since there were no clouds, got a show with the stars above the mountains. The downside is that all the moving water completely froze so I lost that element in the foreground. The ice in the foreground is about 12 inches wide. When I find comps like this it always reminds me to look small for awesome foregrounds. Especially in the ice!

Curious as to the opinion of which is a stronger image. Thanks!

To me personally, I prefer the blue hour image. There is just far more detail going on in the foreground compared to sunset image. The ice cold feeling you get from blue hours matches the scene better with the subject in my opinion as well.

That's my preference of the two as well. Thanks for the feedback
