Cliffside at Caprock Canyons

I shot this photo from the edge of a cliff at Caprock Canyons State Park Texas. I like the foreground boulder on the edge of the cliff as if it was about the fall. I tried to capture the lines of the cliff heading into the distance. I tried to capture the scale with the trees in the canyon floor below. I hope that the weight imbalance of the picture, skewed heavily to the left, conveys the precipitous (and scary) place I was taking photos.

I would love constructive criticism on this picture, composition, and how I edited it.
I may have adjusted the exposure too low as I really wanted the sky to pop blue against the orange-red cliffs.
I debated a while when taking this about how close I wanted to be to the boulder and this is what I thought worked best.
This is near noon and hard down-lighting, but it is the time I was there.

Thanks,

Caprock Canyons is one of my favorite places. I grew up near there (before it was a state park). Lots of photogenic scenes for sure. Harsh midday sun with no clouds in the sky definitely makes it difficult, but you did well with the light you had to work with. You definitely need to visit again when you can be there early and/or late, and hopefully you'll be blessed with some interesting clouds as well.
