What do you want the focus of your picture to be? I feel like the mountains and the stars blend together in a way and I would personally enjoy it more if one of those really stood out. Other than that, it is a beautiful image with great scenery.
Your first attempt is very, very good. I'm going to be trying my hand at photographing the Milky Way in a couple of months. I'm traveling to the closest darkest region of the US: Cherry Springs State Park in PA.
