I recently went on a 2 night backpacking trip in the High Sierra, and I brought my full frame camera and a tripod. I thoroughly enjoy to print my work, and I always photograph with that in mind. The camera weight was not very pleasant going over the 11,800 foot pass, but it was all worth it when it was time to do some photography. Here are some photos from my trip. I just ordered a 30x20" print of the first picture, and I am anxiously waiting for it to be done. Constructive Criticism welcomed.
Super jealous! this has been on my list for a while, you got some great shots! Would love to have seen the last frame as a composite with some sunset light around on the foreground. very well done!

Thanks! A lot of these high elevation areas are often hiked and photographed in mid day sun with cellphones. Its a landscape photographer's paradise! I highly recommend it.
Thanks for sharing- these are great! Regarding your full frame camera- I have been struggling with a near future purchase of the A7 III vs A7R III, only because of the difference in resolution and low light capabilities... I also like to shoot landscapes and astrophotography - can you tell me what you used for these, especially for such a large print. Thanks!
I shot these with an A7ii with the Sony FE 16-35 but Id much prefer to have any of those other cameras. The A7iii vs A7riii debate is a tricky one for a landscape photographer. High resolution (3200$) vs all around performance (2000$) but at 24 megapixels. I think 24 megapixels is fine, and I print up to 30x20". I would probably not push it any further. Good luck picking a camera body, there is so much to think about.
I love #2, lovely composition as well as the bright and shadow sections of the mountain range give a lovely feel to it.
Very nice images. Thanks for sharing. I don’t know how some of the Old Masters did it. I backpack with a tech camera kit, and I admit it wears me out. But like you, I like to print my images, and it’s worth it.
Nice images indeed. I know the feeling of pain hauling photo gear in the high sierras. I took a 50 pound pack with me up to 10,000ft near Mount Whitney last year. 20 of those pounds was probably my Canon 6D, tripod, and 3 lenses. lol. It's rough, but very much worth it.
You will always look at the prints with nostalgia and be reminded of the hardship of lugging all that stuff to the locations.
Great pics! I think the first picture is the most dramatic. I wish the water wasn't so shallow because the debris is a little distracting. Also, a little more green in the second picture could help the trees pop a bit. Thanks for sharing! Seeing your first pictures helps me understand where I want to get with my pictures.
