It is a pleasant photo and definitely not overbaked.Maybe the sun is a bit too far to the left. It's personal taste really.I can imagine being there at sunset was very pleasant.I don't always look at a photograph as being great but can I relive the experience by looking at it. You would know the temperature, whether there was any breeze, who was there with you or were you having a time of quiet solitude. These sort of things make photography such a great pastime whether or not you nail it technically perfect.
I debated with myself about the positioning of the sun. I thought about off-camera to the left. I decided I wanted the sun and reflection in the lake but I didn't want it to totally dominate the sky by being more toward the center. But I might have given it a bit more margin.
The mood I was feeling at the time was enjoying the solitude. I am a loner and getting out somewhere taking pictures is one of my favorite things to do to get away from the constant everyone of the city.
Pleasant image, but to be honest i find the image a bit boring. In Terms of composition and editing.
In the composition there isn't really much to see. Maybe moving the camera closer to the flowers would increase the foreground interest but probably block the lake view.
The top right of the image is lacking any interest to catch the eye.
The sky itself is quite boring, without any vibrant colors, clouds or sunstar. Not your fault it's just how this evening was.
In terms of editing i'm missing some real contrast and highlights. It's too flat overall with the sun dragging your eye too far to the left.
I have a lot of those images too, that were beautiful to witness but didn't make a good picture.
"trying to make it natural and over-baked" sounds contradicting...
I meant not over-baked. Sorry

I read some of your blog Jason. Nice work and good reflections.
It's pleasant, but there isn't anything about it, that reaches out and grabs me and pulls me in.
