Poinsett Bridge. CC greatly appreciated!

Poinsett Bridge is the oldest bridge in South Carolina and perhaps in the entire southeastern United States. Named for Joel Roberts Poinsett, it was built in 1820 as part of a road from Columbia, SC to Saluda Mountain.

The first image is the lower view of the bridge with the creek running underneath. The real trick to capturing this photo was editing out the tourists that were hanging out by the creek. The second image is the creek after it's passed under the bridge.

I'm always working to create a better image... What would you change about the photos? What could make these photos better? Thanks in advance for the guidance!

I like them both.In addition to these shots I would be taking close ups of the brickwork and also some close up detail of rocks and swirling water.(using slow shutter speed).

Thanks, Geoff! I'll definitely be making another trip to this spot, I'll have to spend a little time with the rocks.

Hi Mark.
Is there a chance to return to this place in better (more interesting) light conditions? like in early sunrise hours - no tourists as well). As of now, these two pictures have flat light and do not show the full potential of the place.
I would retouch tree out of frame or find another vantage point - now this tree cuts frame in two pieces and arch is lost. get closer and down with ultra wide lens maybe? with sunrays, beams on the other end of the arch it would be a great picture I guess.
Regarding creek - is there spot to get down the stream below the fallen tree. make this tree one of the main objects in the frame and with use of GND/ND freeze and smooth water?
all above is just MHO

Thanks for the suggestions, Bruce! I'll definitely be back at the spot to try more photos (it's a beautiful area). I'll have to try a different time of day to see what happens... These were taken around 2:30pm, during the height of the afternoon sun. This area is hidden in a gulley under a thick canopy of trees, so light is always scarce. And I'll try a few different vantage points as suggested.
