I went to Nikko, in Tochigi (Japan), in October of 2017, and I fell in love with the nature there. I had the chance to photograph waterfalls for the first time in my life, and I've quickly become very fond of photographing them. I love that they are normally located deep in the forest, so I can find time to myself in a country so full of people. I also love the sound of the water as it flows, it sounds quite tranquil. I am not, however, fond of all the spiders...
Just this year, I bought a book, for research, and I'm now going to try to photograph as many waterfalls as I can, across Japan. So far, I've only photographed waterfalls in Tochigi, Kanagawa, and Yamanashi, but as I continue my journey across the 47 prefectures, I hope to find more to photograph.
What is your favorite landscape to photograph, and when did you fall in love with that kind of landscape? Feel free to share some of your photos and experiences.
Also, I'm always happy to get any meaningful feedback regarding my photos, I don't seem to get much on my portfolio.
Thanks!
I really like the concept, good luck with the series.
Having a themed set of images always adds another level. It can also give you a boost in motivation and inspiration.
I too like waterfalls, but unfortunately we do not have that many
around here.
Actually right after writing this i did some research and found quite a few not to far from me...
From these images i like the ice cave the most. A shame it didn't have a little more water in it.
Thanks!
I like the ice image, too. I had to zoom in because the waterfall was over 90% frozen, so movement and liquid water was limited.
