Colin Robertson's picture

Sunset blue's

Hi there, new to the group, after reading a lot of the comments/tips on other pics l think this will be a good learning and developing site for me.Being taking photos on and off for 3-4 years and love it, work&family tend to curb my time behind the lens though.
So, the title ? Felt l was getting a bit sunset obsessed and recently started hanging about for ! Blue hr ! Beginning to really like the tones that develop and along with a wee long exposure enjoying the results so far. This ones a bit inbetween though. Hope you enjoy it to.

it does have a nice look to it and i like the palette some foreground elements could help you out a bit but i like it

Thank you joseph, little to no foreground interest as far as l can remember.

Really like this. I agree with Joseph about needing more foreground interest, OR pulling the frame up to put the horizon lower in the bottom third and emphasize that sky!

Thank you David, good pointer, might try that one, when next on pc.

Hi Colin, Nice work and muted colours. All good tips by the others.Sometimes a scene like this would lend itself to using a telephoto lens on a tripod and concentrating the view up closer to the pinks and immediate mountains.I'll try for a crop to see what that could look like.

Cheers Geoff, this copy is pretty low res.
Yip agree not long after this trip bought myself a 70-200 f4 for exact reason, using it more and more in my landscapes.
