Frozen waterfall

Last year I had a month experience in Canada, and stayed a week in Banff. Spotted this small frozen waterfall at Johnston's canyon. Never thought I would be able to see something like this before (I'm a tropical guy from Brazil).

Any thoughts?

And yes, I know it might be something usual for some of you guys, but it's still very interesting to me lol

its super cool you might have overexposed a bit losing a bit of detail with all that white but i like it

you're right haha Snow is kinda tricky to photography and to get all the exposures right, but the overall image seems good to me. I need to save some money to get back there with more time, more calm, and really enjoy the place at it maximum.

I share your previously non experience ettore. If that makes sense.Good capture. With bright snow shots or anything where it is all white I usually just overexpose one or two stops with exposure compensation button.Iy you added some blue tint it might look colder.

hi Geoff.

yeah, it make some sense haha something like this is quite awkward to understand, but damn it was cold.
I will give it a try to overexpose the bottom, it may help with some water details.

thanks

I've only had one chance to shoot a frozen waterfall, but I found it helps to pick out the details. In this one, I see a nice gap near the center that could have made for something nice.
I hope you get more chances in the future, they are really fun to play around with!

thanks Jordan

working on it, it's on my list to spend more time in Canada. Such a nice place, to be honest, I don't know why I came back... you should visit Johnston's canyon near Banff, those waterfalls can frozen because of the harsh weather, and you can hike there easily.

I'd love to go to Banff some day, (I'm from Vancouver, and I've never been there, haha). Luckily, we have plenty of waterfalls here in Japan that freeze up, especially in the north, so I could probably save time and money by going to those in the mean time, haha.

wow you were close! Make a visit, it's an amazing place!
just go!! saw photos from some Japanese waterfalls and they were great, a lot of aura nearby. post photos!! ahaha
