Filtered sun rays through misty forest, Point Reyes CA.

Caught this from the back door of a home rental at Point Reyes over the weekend. No color in the sky but the sun through the mist and trees was creating these faint beams of light with layers of forest showing. I liked the darkness of the lower forest and the fade to the bright backlit foggy sky overhead.

I like it, it's a little abstract and kind of fine art looking (I think. I have no idea what fine art "means").
i think you could remove the houses/windows below the tree line. But other than that, its nice!

I like it. What was the setting of your camera to catch it ?

140mm · f/7.1 · 1/2500s · ISO 200 Exposing for the light not the trees.

Thank you.

I like this a lot! Makes me miss Pt Reyes and those delicious oysters

Amazing light!

Great capture David. I would change it to black and white also and lighten the bottom section a little.

It actually is BW, but with a cross processing effect I was playing with in Luminar 2018. Gives the light a very slightly blue/yellow tinge.

Here's a 16:9 version with the brighter of the two buildings erased (not a great job). I liked the original for the decent into shadow the light takes, but I like the wide shot as well. Wish I had taken more of this scene. It was changing fast though.
