TANAY DAS's picture

How are this images.

Just 1 year as an amateur photographer. I would like to know the feed back.
I am not good at editing so please any knowledge of editing the pics and framing them or cropping would be very helpful.
Nikon D5500
Tokina 11-16 were used for all shots.

For just one year of experience these are pretty good, you're definitely off to a good start.

I suggest you work on

- understanding what the histogram actually shows (blacks, shadows, midtones, highlights, whites)
- understanding what dynamic range has to do with the histogram and what clipping means
- understanding what contrast has to do with the histogram
- putting all of the above into practice and maxing out detail by manipulating the histogram

Hints: Personally, I think the Milky Way shots are too bright and have low contrast, the 2 pictures after those lose too much detail in the shadows.

The last one actually is the best of all of them, one could argue that the sun is blown out, but that would be silly. I like it in terms of composition as well as lighting and would suggest only minor changes.

Thank you so much. I will work on every suggestions that you have put forward.
