Above the clouds of Masca

Hello everybody,

I'm so glad to share my first post:) I've recently started exploring photography and I was fortunate enough to take a trip to Tenerife with some of my good friends. It was an incredible experience, but what really blew my mind away was climbing near the village of Masca, above the clouds, where we were welcomed by one hell of a view.

This is one of my favorite shots I got there. Sun was going down on what proved to be an unforgettable day.

Please let me know what you guys think and if you have any kind of advice, kindly let me know. I am loving the experience so far and I will try and share as much as I can from it!

This is a terrific shot and would consider it for print. My one comment is the bird in the upper left should be cloned out. It's too far away and looks more like a spec on the image than a bird.

Thanks a lot David! I checked and the "bird" is indeed a spec:)) Will clone it out.

It looks like it was a heck of journey.
I don't want to sound overly negative, but I think Thomas Heaton put it best when he said "A nice view doesn't make a great photograph", or something like that. I'm sure the view was stunning in person and all the more rewarding after the journey it required, but it's difficult to really feel that from the photo.

There isn't really a clear subject to grab the eye, but at the same time there's too much going on for it to be minimalist. Maybe if you can clone out the clouds on the right and convert it to black and white, it would look more "artistic", but I can't say for sure.

But those are just my thoughts. I hope they help.

Hey Jordan! I'm here to learn so thank you very much for your words and insight. Will surely give it a try in B&W and remove the clouds and you suggested. I still have many photos to play with from that trip:D

Well, as long as you're having fun and learning, that's all that matters. Learning is a lifetime process. I look forward to what you do next!

Have to chime in, I'm afraid, Jordan is right.
