Any thoughts. There was a really beautiful sunset the other night. I just had to capture it. I'd like input on the post-processing and composition. Thanks!
Wow beautiful sunset. I'd like to see some details on those rocks, and more room below them. The crop is pretty abrupt.
The head that is cropped in half. I'm not getting it. If its an attempt at something artistic, I applaud the experimentation, but it just seems like its trying to convey a message that i'm not getting.
The third composition is pretty good, except for how there is no separation between the subject and background on the right side. Again, I wouldn't mind seeing some detail in the shadows. Silhouettes are great, but this seems like too much of a closeup for it to be as effective.
Sunsets are nice, but they aren’t usually an interesting subject by themselves. Instead they are used to enhance a subject. I’d recommend finding something to focus on, a foreground interest or some leading lines, something like that.
You’ve kind of got that going on in the first picture, but the balance is a little off. I think there is too much sky and the rocks are just kinda there. Try getting lower and closer to the rocks if possible. If you can do that, and place them in the frame a little more meaningfully, it can help with the balance/composition.
Not to worry, I'm sure those rocks aren't going anywhere any time soon, so you can always go back and try again with your tripod... assuming you live nearby.

I hope that helps
I would have done that but I wanted to do a little longer exposure and I forgot my tripod, I had to set my camera on a post.

Yeah, Just have to wait for the perfect sunset again!
