joseph cole's picture

this mornings capture

got out this morning after a prior day of sogginess and was able to get a few goodies this was a vertical panorama much of what i wanted to capture was cut out I'm guessing due to the fact the i was shooting in a south to north direction instead of horizontally but a good learning experience none the less i will post the others later after i process them...now with less blue

You should correct the colors in the water. There's way too much blue hue in the white. Not sure if it's colorcast created by your filters?
Try to imagine when you were there, I am sure you will remember the motion/white in the water to be way more white :-)

i believe you are correct i will adjust thanks
i was putting all my attention to pulling out the fall colors

I was going to say the same as Mikkel about the color. BTW this is just personal - But try a cropping it taking out the wood at the top leaving about a half of the wood in. I think the focus is the water.

yeah i was just trying to get the fall colors... so you think a square crop would look better?

like this?

Yes! Although the foliage is beautiful I think this crop is much more powerful. Lovely

Your absolute best picture yet, Joseph, straight 3 if you get the white balance right!

thanks buddy I'm working on it... i tried the presets this morning for cloudy condition and i did the research on how to hold up a white board expose a shot and that would be the base for the balance but i think i missed a step i work on it this week...some jackass gave me a 1 star again lol

Swap it for a WB corrected version, lose that 1 star rating and I'll make it a 3 star rating right away, definitely worth it.

thanks Thorsten always appreciated

By the way, I use an Expodisc, put it on the lens and point it at the light source, take WB measurement, done.

i will lookinto it

Getting better every week! Keep up the good work! Don’t let the trolls on this site bother you, the ratings are just for show anyways. Some guy gave my pic “Dragons Lair” a 1 star.

Thanks John much appreciated

Great pic Joseph. I love everything about it. Well done.

Love your shot Joseph, I think the fall colors should be kept. I do wish the crop on the left of the falls was less abrupt, I also don't think you need as much water on the right.

yeah it was much wider at the bottom but when i panned up with the panorama it cut off a significant amount of what i didn't really want to lose.... below was the base of the pan
