My 57th bird identified is that of a swamp sparrow. This little guy was totally stealing the show. Another photo included is a tree with berries of sorts I took in the middle of oak and cedar trees. I'm just curious what sort of berries they are.
Thank you Geoff! I couldn’t have asked for a better 57th Bird to ID. The swamp sparrow was located literally on the edge of a creek perched on tall grass surrounded by mud. Definitely deserving of the name!
I had never heard of a swamp sparrow before. Now I know. Looks very similar to most sparrows. Our sparrows,house sparrows, in Australia are originally from England. The males are black under the chin and the females look similar to this.We apparently also have a Eurasian Sparrow which is very similar.
