Hi. I am a new photographer. This is one of my first times planning when to capture this subject with a particular light, was giddy to see the sun shine through the clouds at just the right moment to catch it. Would love input on how to improve. Thank you.
Great job on your first image! I'm new also. Isn't it exciting to produce something beautiful. The only criticism i would have is not on how you took the image but on just the subject. The bottom half of the tree gets lost a bit in the background.
It is exciting, and so fun learning. Thank you for your input.
Great shot. I would say that subject is too close to the trees in the background. Maybe the shot could have been better from a distance. Remember that the eye goes to the lightest point and my eye here goes to the grass left. Wider view with the subject to the side. But make sure u have a day with clouds (as the one u took). If u did this and the sun is too intense use a soft graduated nd filter sideways? Nice shot though well done
The objective is to create separation between the single tree and the forest behind. With the shadows current placement, there's no separation. Perhaps return tot his location at different times of the day and move to different locations within that area. Balance wise, the image is appealing yet somewhat top heavy.
Lovely image Anthony. I take the point of what everyone esle has said here but I don't know you could have dome much more than what you have captured here. Thanks for posting.Trees are great subjects.
All, thank you for your comments, all good insights much appreciated.
Here is a second image in the same area. Somewhat random shot trying to captur the tree in front along with the other one angled towards the back.
I particuarly like this one anthony. I noticed it has birds on a branch which is a nice touch.
I wish i could say on purpose. But lol, i did not even notice. Arg.. i need to pay closer attention to detail
Here is the first time i noticed this tree, which led me to comeback to try to catch the sunrise hittng it, bad post work on it.
Somewhat better, but the tree should not be in the center of the image as it appears to have been taken by a tourist. Also, it looks as if you've attempted to post edit the shot.. as the colors in the sky are not "normal". lastly, stake out a spot and just watch where and how the sun appears over the horizon. With this movement one can best judge how the sun will hit or highly those elements of this picture that you want. I'm hoping to create a topic based on "Finding your Magic Hour" which deals with the best times to catch the sun in the right location.
