not sure about this one, there is just something off that i can't figure out... maybe the shot just sucks. i took it on my way out of the park the other morning i wanted to get some sunlight hitting parts of it and i did but i don't know if it was the time i took the shot, the position or what just give it to me straight. took the shot around 9A.M.
When I zoom in on it Joseph it looks better when the sky is not included. That's in my opinion. The framing becomes the so called ideal format when you shoot 6x4.5 medium format.
I think it needs tweaking but i love it. Like geoff i agree crop out the sky. I would also bring down the highlight of the falls on the left. I would take down the rocks left and the one at the back middle a little but not much. Your composition of the foreground water middle and back is very good u might use a polarizer to show some warmth from the rocks underneath the water but not sure. However having said that personally the contrast of the color blue on the water and warmth on the rocks i like very much.
like this?
Almost. That looks more like a 6x6 square shot. Just try given it a 6x4.5 ratio or 6x7.Take some off the bottom maybe.
I like that crop. I like the swirling water at the front. I would tone down the bright spots in the water in photoshop. If u want help with that i would be happy to give u my email address via a pm. I love this image.
Whoa colors, colors, colors. This shot is extremely warm, yet it has a blue sky? Ermmm no way ;-)
Best I can come up with is this here, there's way more potential there.
i think i need to throw that wider angle lens in the back of my closet for a while ..but you know how slow my long lens is haha
I'd go with something like this, but I'd say make sure you have the pool in the foreground, with the flowing water. That way you'll have a nice layered photo. Flowing pool in the foreground, dry rock catching the light in the middle ground and waterfall with the interesting tree in the background also catching the light.
I think one issue are the really bright trees on top, that are also so messy that they blur out detail.
Yeah I see that too I gotta be more subtle with those sliders
