I'm under the impression that you did not use either a UV or Polarized filter. If you had, either one of those filters could have separated the landmass from the fog/haze. Again, one would have to test using both filters (separately) in a variety of shots. In this image current state I would have to say average or tourist photo..
I did use one. It basically lives on my long lens. It helped cut through the haze but the light was so strong that it didn’t cut through all of it which I don’t mind as the light pouring in is what’s made the scene so beautiful to me.
I’m on my phone, not my computer l, so this is based on a rather small version of the photo but...To me, the fog or haze really adds to the atmosphere of the photo. So I suppose that comes down the preference.
I could go either way on keeping or removing the people in the photo. But overall, it’s a nice, simple, photo that works, at least for me. I’d much rather see more photos like this vs the fake overprocessed stuff I tend to see a lot.
