Well just find it odd someone got nearly the same picture from the same perspective. I mean, sure slight differences and added hues blah blah blah.. tell tell sign is when you view the image within the person's profile.. no image data. Sure this can be added later, but still.. Also, Canon & I have been talking for about a year, so should I contact canon and find out who's picture this is?. cause maybe Canon forgot to post credit to the photographer.
It's mine :)
The spot where this picture is taken from is very easy to find. You can see the footprints of the many photographers on the ground who stand there every day. ;)
Anna, love the shot! Great colors, light, and execution - even if Kirkjufell is overphotographed, it's for good reason.
Amp Lighter - I'm certainly not an expert in photography forensics (or photography at all for that matter), and it's important to credit artists for their work. But to say that an image is stolen simply because it is similar to another image taken in one of the most popular spots of one of the trendiest photography destinations seems like a reach. Google Kirkjufell - there are thousands of images taken from this perspective, give or take a few feet.
Genuinely not trying to argue with you over an internet comment board. Just wanted to make the point that it was entirely reasonable for both of these images to exist independent of one another without anything nefarious having taken place on either end. If you did not intend to imply that the picture was stolen then I apologize, though I think most reasonable people reading these comments would have reached that conclusion.
This shot is completely different from the Canon post in the link. I think we should all just appreciate this picture for what it is. And everyone who's been to Kirkjufell knows, there's about a 10-15 foot space on the right of the falls where everyone takes a picture from, and everyone's compositions look similar (I'm as guilty of this as anyone else; see below). So while we're all guilty of having similar compositions, it doesn't equate to having the same photograph.
Nice photo, Anna. The post-processing could be a little more subtle, in my opinion, but great shot, nevertheless.
Is that light real? The sun flare and direction of the light feels off to me. I think the image is beautiful and the composition is a classic for a reason, but the flare feels very fake. Would love to know!
Thanks for the comment! yes I edited a little part of the sunflare because I didn't really like that part of the picture. Probably will do it better next time :)
I think it looks beautiful, my only criticism would be that i have seen this composition over 100 times. There is even an Fstoppers tutorial of how to take this exact image.
Having said that there is nothing wrong with shooting the classics, its a personal choice.
Also this is clearly not the Canon shot, the perspective of the bridge and also the bank in the foreground are different as well as about 50 other minor things like puddles etc.
Great shot. The right place at the right time. I was there in late May of this year. The clouds and sun didn't cooperate nearly as well for me as it did for you.
Well done.
Hi Anna,
I find it interesting that you decided to keep the full frame....a LOT of photographers tend to hide the top part of the follow by going down a notch, the golden lights on the bottom left are sweet. Not a big fan of the sunflare, it is too withish.. (hue/sat needed i think). Hope this helps :-)
So come clean, Who's image is this. Yours or Canons?. https://twitter.com/CanonUSAimaging/status/1061416263161921536
It's mine! And if you look closely! you can see that the place where the canon shot is taken is probably even a fews steps on the right ;)
Different photos, end of story. One does not need to credit the other. No one can own a particular location or composition.
Looks like you had a great day for it Anna :)
Wow
It certainly looks like the Canon shot!

Ok then I'll contact Canon and let them know they didn't show you some love when they tweeted your picture.
haha xD thanks not necessary.
These are clearly two different pictures :)

Hum thats odd.. could you please point our where in my comments, I said that the image was "stolen"

Right where you ask her to "fess up".
Thank you Josh for the nice comment :)

Stunning. The colors and detail are gorgeous. It really is one of the most photogenic places in Iceland.

A great Image shot in an iconic location.
thank you so much :)
Yes! you are right.
2017 was the first time when I went to iceland! And of course I went to all the classical places :P haha

Here is my slightly photoshopped version.
Right place at the right time-Wow!

Love it, a great image. :)
It is easy to see that these are different. This is beautiful. I'l love to stand in the same place too!
