After the long walk in through some steep tracks in the native bush you are greeted with the magnificent Waipohatu Falls. This is a photo of the upper section of the falls.
This is a great scene, and the composition, exposure and so on are very good. I think you've done everything right with the technicalities of the shot (maybe work a little on the angle of the horizon). However, I think this could benefit from some good light. The light is rather flat and makes the place look a bit uninteresting. I hope you'll be able to go back again early morning or late evening depending on the direction of sunlight and recapture this scene.
Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to get there early so had to make do with the available light. Hope to get back there sometime in the future. Would also like to have got a better angle but safety would have been an issue given how wet all the rocks were from the rain.
It looks like a nice location, but I have to agree that this particular composition with this particular light isn't ideal.
Having photographed my share of waterfalls, I know light isn't always possible, depending on how deep into the woods you are. If you can go back, it might be worth bringing a longer lens. There is a rock on the right, near the bottom and I sense an intimate landscape opportunity, no amazing light required.
Nicely done with the exposure, though! I hope you can go back!

Thanks. Yes I also hope to get back there one day. It is a fair walk through the bush.
