Thanks David, I agree with you about tree on the left, because we have same tree on the right :)
We didn't make close up photos with the ice on the water, but we've made lot's of photos of winter nature around. You can see them on our Instagram page if you are interested in :)
What David said. I think your composition is just fine; however, cropping in would move the stream and bridge closer to the edge of frame, and I really don't think that would do the image any favours; more to the point, I think the subject matter made the composition essential.
Anyway, this is a lovely delicate image that you should be proud of.
Great subject, like Jordan I think a tighter crop might improve it, especially with the blurry bottom left foreground. That crooked cabin in the middle of the trees is great.
Very well balanced composition with the leading line formed by the ice edge drawing viewers eyes to the waterfall and up to the cabin. Trees on the left and right frame the scene and provide depth. Gorgeous scene well photographed ...Bravo!
Love this image, the mood and the magic light. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for such comment! :)
I think you could tighten the crop, as you don't really need that half tree on the left.
However, I love everything else about this photo. Great mood, colours, and exposure. Well shot.
Thanks for comment Jordan! :)
I'm going to play devil's advocate and tell you I like the tree on the left, I think it serves well as visual punctuation. I love love love this.
Did you do any close ups or anything with the 'ice plates' in the river?
Boreal forest - cannae beat it!

North nature is amazing...

I totally agree. The tree on the left frames the image and adds balance. Gorgeous shot all round.
